In 1974, the College of Law Enforcement was at Eastern Kentucky University. Over the years, EKU has continued to grow, and the College of Law Enforcement has evolved with it, adding new programs and developing to include a much broader range of educational opportunities. To more accurately reflect the scope of the programs, the College was renamed the College of Justice and Safety in 2000.
Today the College continues to carry on the traditions and innovation established during its rich history and has become a recognized leader in the fields of justice and safety.
In an effort to provide students and current working professionals with the opportunity to continue their education and earn a degree, Eastern Kentucky University now offers several of its degree and certificate programs online.
