Millersville University's online campus is very much like a traditional university environment. The library, bookstore, and all the administrative offices of the University are present online. Instructors are available for private consultation by telephone and e-mail.
Participating in an online course is intellectually challenging and personally rewarding. Each time you attend a class you find a discussion in progress. The instructor provides lectures and offers resources, asks and answers questions, gives assignments, assesses your progress and gives feedback in the electronic classroom. Fellow students discuss topics by posting comments, questions, and observations. Your responses and contributions become part of the ongoing interaction.
The Master of Science in Emergency Management degree, offered online, was developed in response to a nationwide need identified by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for well-trained individuals to plan and coordinate emergency management efforts. Graduates are prepared to serve in a variety of positions in the emergency management field and to attain certified emergency manager status.
The 30-credit program can be completed in two calendar years, but is flexible for those who need additional time to complete the requirements. The online courses include faculty and student interaction, discussions, group work and individual projects.
