Legislation is making its way through the Tennessee General Assembly that would create "Blue Alerts". Blue Alerts are similar to Amber Alerts, but they're used to help find a missing law enforcement officer, or a suspect accused of killing or assaulting an officer. The same infrastructure used for Amber Alerts would be used for Blue Alerts. Little additional cost is anticipated.
We know of several other states that have passed a similar law. California did a couple of months ago per our post here. Oklahoma, Texas, and Florida have Blue Alert laws. Blue Alert legislation is pending in Missouri. Here's a Facebook page on the Missouri legislation.
If you know of other states that have either passed a Blue Alert law, or are considering it, please let us know so we can spread the word. Blue Alerts are obviously building momentum, and it seems like a good deal to us.
