Shared by Bill Cumming Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Battleship Arizona Memorial. It was this event that brings meaning to the George C. Marshall quote. It captures much about how we seem to function as a nation. We attack problems vigorously when they are presented to us. Sometimes we anticipate them, we talk about them, and we debate them, but the energy to fix them waits for some momentous event. Then we try to play catch-up by throwing money and people at the issue.
I worry that some of the issues we will face in the future may be so big that we won't be able to recover from the event if we wait too long to react and become prepared in the first place.
