The above is the title of an article that David Maack, Racine County Wisconsin wrote for the Wisconsin Emergency Management Digest several years ago (see page 5 for his article).

It harkens to what I posted just last week about the "Power of 1" and "Being 1 Deep." The use of volunteers is a great way to expand your abilities in tough times.

Take a few minutes to peruse the entire Digest. Perhaps there is something additional there you may find of interest. I'm taking it with me now for something to read while I get the tires rotated on my car.

And, in this virtual world we live in, I'll finally get a chance to meet David Maack when I'm at their Wisconsin conference next week, and I'm sure it is because of him that I was invited to speak at their annual state conference.
