I was called earlier this week with a question about how good Stephen Flynn is as a speaker. I had blogged on his talk at an IAEM Conference. Yes, he is a good speaker.
If you have not read his book, Edge of Disaster there is a nice review of Edge of Disaster by Paul Stockton. I'll call it a Cliff Notes version!
It has been two years and what has changed since the book was published. I suppose the current stimulus funds being poured into infrastructure will help, but I think it is a drop in the bucket for the type of investment that needs to be made.
Remember the BIG lie that is out there today. You can have good schools, safe communities and strong infrastructure--and no one has to pay for it! We really don't want to invest in becoming disaster resilient.
