Many families play board games during the holidays and they make good gifts. For the emergency manager on your gift list for the year maybe you should be getting him or her a Disaster Game

The trouble is the Family Edition is sold out. So maybe next year for Christmas you can get the new and improved game.

I've not had the opportunity to try this concept, but one of my emergency management partners wrote the following:

I looked through the materials and am not sure how useful it would be, but I like the concept. It seems to me that they have identified a whole bunch of what if situations and then with the roll of a die you mix up what happens. Some parts of this seem as though it could be a little complicated (identifying date/time). I do like the concept of building a little 'fun' into exercises and mixing up the variables but in order to be successful, there must be a willingness to make mistakes and then discuss different possibilities.

I noted that the Corporate Edition runs close to $300.00. Which is much cheaper than a Level 1 HAZMAT Suit, but is it on the list of approved equipment on the DHS web site? If I get to try out the game I'll fill you in on what I think.
