I keep writing about how important technology is to the future success of emergency management programs--and now there is an award to recognize those who are forging ahead on technology projects in their emergency management organizations.
The Emergency Management Digital Distinction Awards, conducted in partnership with Emergency Management magazine, recognize successful contributions to the first responder community's use of information technology. All civilian government emergency management agencies, ALL LEVELS of government and all countries worldwide may nominate their IT applications and projects. In its inaugural year -- 2010 -- the contest opens January 26; submission deadline is March 18.
I encourage you or any other organization who is working to incorporate technology in a new or unique way to make a submission. At this point there is still plenty of time to do so.
