Emergency Responder Electronic Health Record (ER-EHR) - EMForum.org - Wed July 8, 12:00 Noon EDT

EMForum.org is pleased to host a one hour presentation and interactive discussion July 8, 2009 beginning at 12:00 Noon Eastern time (please convert to your local time). Our topic will be the Emergency Responder Electronic Health Record (ER-EHR), an interoperability specification adopted by the Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel (HITSP). ER-EHR defines specific standards required to track and provide on-site emergency care professionals, medical examiner/fatality managers and public health practitioners with needed information regarding care, treatment or investigation of emergency incident victims.

Our guest will be C. Jeff Sexton, from the Tennessee Health Department's Office of Information Technology Services. As a subject matter expert, Mr. Sexton participated in the development of ER-EHR. He has 25 years experience in information technology and has held various positions in or supporting DOD, US EPA, and HHS. He currently serves as Program Manager for the Tennessee Emergency Medical, Awareness, Response and Resources (TEMARR) program.

Please make plans to join us, and as always, feel free to extend this invitation to your colleagues. See the Background Page http://www.emforum.org/vforum/090708.htm for related materials and instructions. If this will be your first time to participate, go to the EMForum.org www.emforum.org and check your connection at least a day in advance by clicking on the Live Meeting Login link at the top left. The Live Meeting client must be used in order to access the audio.

While checking out the EMForum.org Web site, take time to vote in this week's poll: Does your interoperable communications program include the private and public health sectors? Yes, No, Don't know.

This educational service is provided by the Emergency Information Infrastructure Project (EIIP).
