I'm sure the profiling aspect of how they question passengers would raise the ire of civil libertarians here in this country. Another major deterrent is having armed air marshals on every flight. Some day we may get to that point, but we are not there yet.
It would be interesting to go to Israel to see their security measures. I had the opportunity once to get an all expenses paid trip for that purpose, but could not get approval to travel--bummer! I think it would have provided a glimpse into our potential future.
