The reason I mention them here on a blog about emergency management and homeland security is that I believe that transportation is the most critical of all the critical infrastructures.
When there are transportation system damages following a disaster, you can't fix anything else--even communications, until you have your transportation corridors reestablished. You cannot get supplies, people and other resources to the points where they are needed in quantity until you have a functioning transportation/road system.
There has to be someone out there to disagree with me--so bring it on! Make the case for communications...as being number one.
