With the current cable outage impacting the global internet due to an undersea cable issue I went hunting for maps. This particular web site of undersea cable maps has a lot of old maps and they are not that clear. What did surprise me was the date of the first undersea cable system between England and America--1858! I was thinking it would have been a bit later, so much for being a history major.
