EERI Annual Meeting

You can find Earthquake risks almost anywhere in the United States.  Here in the Pacific Northwest we are fortunate to have a major conference on the topic being held in our backyard.  See information below.

The 2013 Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI) Annual Meeting will be held in downtown Seattle from February 12-15th. We are quite fortunate that this national meeting will take place locally as it will bring together approximately 250 engineers, scientists, emergency managers, planners, and interested citizens all with an interest in earthquake engineering and risk reduction strategies.

As a bonus to the meeting there is a half-day workshop on the Christchurch Earthquakes that will be held on Tuesday, 2/12. Several representatives from New Zealand will be featured in order to share their experiences in responding to and recovering from the devastating earthquake sequence of 2010 and 2011.

I believe the cost for this second event is $30.00.

John Schelling shared the information above.
