Utah Valley University has a position open, Director of Emergency Preparedness and Risk Management
It is always interesting to review college and university positions. They place a high degree of emphasis on education. This one calls for someone with a BA in Emergency Management or a related field--a masters degree too if you have it. I'm guessing this is a one person shop doing everything from soup to nuts in the fields of emergency management and risk.
I do believe that there will be much more emphasis in the future on risk management within the career field of emergency management. When I was in King County the Risk Management Office was in the same parent office that I reported to and we did collaborate on some issues. Disaster insurance being one of them.
