Job: Grants Finance Manager
August 12, 2011
Bookmark and Share

The Bay Area Urban Area Securities Initiative (UASI) composed of the local jurisdictions around the major cities of Oakland and San Francisco is looking for a new Grants Finance Manger

This is a complex inter-jurisdictional environment in which to work.  I found it interesting that the position is classified as "permanent" since the entire work of the UASI is tied to Federal Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Grants.

One word of caution I have is that grant dollars are decreasing across the board.  I expect that 2012 will see a further decrease.  Certainly there will be a draw down in staffing in future years as the current backlog of grant funds are either expended or expire.  So, go into this job with your "eyes wide open" as to the duration of the position.

Barb Graff shared the job listing.
