This job working for L3 requires you to have some experience in emergency management, but if you have the degree, especially a masters you might not need as much as others.
I've found that people who are willing to relocate are the ones who have more opportunity in finding positions that will advance their careers. Are you willing to move?

They really know how to make a UASI Program Manager's position sound exciting when it starts out as:
"Performs audits of the UASI grant which involves the examination and evaluation of grant activities to help ensure the reliability and integrity of information; assures grant guidelines compliance, as well as policies, plans, procedures, laws and regulations"
Yikes! The only thing they left off the job description was cleaning the bathrooms at the EOC.

The easiest part of this emergency management job at the University of California Davis is being able to lift and carry weights of 25 pounds.
The rest of it should be challenging to say the least. University systems are complex to work in and "different" from the rest of the emergency management world--in some respects.
Valerie Lucus-Mcewen shared this job announcement and the fact that they went through one recruitment already and did not find the right person. That means they are doing the right thing and looking for someone who can be successful
This is not for the novice. Do you have what it takes?

I've read some unusual job descriptions and announcements in my many years of professional life--this one is one that really is different. See Emergency Management Program Senior Manager
I had heard that King County Office of Emergency Management was looking to hire a senior manager to oversee the professional staff working the programs and projects. This is not the director's position or the deputy's position, but another manager position working directly with the staff and supervising them.
Here is what is unusual:
- The first duty mentioned is doing ESF 5 & 6 work, shouldn't it be supervision?
- The focus of the document is on disaster response. What about the other phases of emergency management?
- At least one year of experience working with National Points of Consensus and Sphere Standards.Where you going to find this person?
- At least one year of experience working in or with United Nations Organization for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA). If you are working in this area, how would you meet other requirements for NIMS, etc.?
This description is so odd it appears to be written for a particular individual.
The pay is good--if you think you fit all the requirements and you are willing go through the application process.
