I know a thing or two about being the director of a large metropolitan county's emergency management agency.  It is not an easy thing to do.  Besides directing what staff you have and trying to get resources your primary activity is trying to get everyone to play nice in the regional sandbox.

With the above in mind and if you have the experience and desire for regional efforts, the Director, Office of Emergency Management in Multnomah County is open and they are looking for qualified candidates.  Multnomah County is the most populous county in Oregon.

This position is an example of associated jobs that have a nexus to emergency management.  Check out GIS Analyst which is a position with USSOUTHCOM.

Previously I've written about how GIS can be a force multiplier when it comes to finding a job.  This is a great example of how with training you might be able to find a position and then later transfer that experience into something else in the future.

Jeff Baranyi shared this information on the position.

See two positions at Disney Inc.  These are both in California.  I found it interesting to read the qualifications statement on the one that listed CEM and HSEEP as part of the criteria.  An advanced degree in emergency management was another criteria I have not seen much of in the past.
