Public Safety Special Operations Response Awareness Course  

 

 Public safety agencies are increasingly responding to “special operations” incidents such as chemical suicides, Homemade Explosives (HME), clandestine drug labs, marijuana grows and crimes involving chemicals.

 

Response operations at these current and emerging threats can expose responders to a wide range of hazards such as criminal elements and a multitude of chemical and explosive hazards. Session addresses recognition, identification and response issues that first responders must deal with prior to the arrival of those teams with specialized training and equipment.

 

Course covers:

  • Chemical Suicides
  • Bomb Threats S.O.G
  • Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) Awareness
  • Homemade Explosives (HME) Awareness
  • Indoor Marijuana Grows & Clandestine Drug Labs Overview
  • Command Considerations and Scene Safety  

Date: Friday, February 18th, 2011 (0830-1230)

 

Location: Lewisville Fire Department, 216 Lewisville-Clemmons Road, Lewisville, NC 27023 

 

Registration: NEED TO REGISTER AT augustv@cityofwsfire.org  PRIOR TO FEB. 14th, 2011.       

 

 

STUDENTS MUST BE A CURRENT MEMBER OF A FIRE DEPT, LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY, EMS, HAZMAT TEAM OR EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY TO ATTEND AND MUST HAVE PROPER I.D.
