The Reuter Foundation was established in Delaware in 1988 as a family foundation to assist disadvantaged individuals in the community. The Foundation was re-incorporated in Ohio in 1992. The Foundation focuses its donations on the following areas: (1) Social services for disadvantaged individuals and populations; (2) Welfare of youth and women; (3) Parental counseling and family budgeting; (4) Services for vulnerable populations, including the elderly and physically/mentally/developmentally disabled; (5) Medical research; (6) Affordable housing for young families; (7) Employment assistance and vocational development; (8) Emergency assistance to individuals; (9) Rehabilitation services for chemical dependencies; (10) Abused women shelters; and (11) Violence prevention programs focused on children.
