The electronic submission into Grants.gov is due by July 11, 2011 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Daylight Time. A proposal received after the closing date and time will not be considered for award. If it is determined that a proposal will not be considered due to lateness, the applicant will be so notified immediately.
The program was established by the Department of the Interior and Related Agencies Act to allow the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to enter into assistance agreements with local communities to reduce the risk and impact of wildfire. The objective is to reduce the risk and impact of wildfire on Idaho communities through wildfire protection planning; hazardous fuels reduction, maintenance and monitoring, mitigation and education activities and to enhance local employment opportunities to accomplish these objectives.
