The application due date is September 16, 2010. Applications must be submitted through the OJA Egrants online grants management system. If you have never used OJA Egrants before, you will need to register for access to the system. To register online, go to http://register.wisconsin.gov/AccountManagement/ and complete the 'self registration' process.

Summary

This grant program is designed to enhance community emergency preparedness and participation capabilities by engaging citizens to become fully aware, trained, and practiced on how to prevent, protect/mitigate, prepare for, and respond to all threats and hazards. Grant funds will enable training for personal preparedness, instructors, exercises, ongoing volunteer programs, and surge capacity response. Programs may include but are not limited to the following: All types of CERT and similar training; critical incident stress management; individual and family preparedness training, etc. All expenses must be new and cannot replace existing state or local government funding. Substitution of existing funds with federal grants (supplanting) will be the subject of monitoring and audit. Violations may result in a range of penalties, including suspension of current and future funds under this program, suspension or debarment from federal grants, repayment of monies provided under a grant, and civil and/or criminal penalties. Funding may be used for personnel, employee benefits, travel/training, supplies and other operating expenses, consultants/contractual and other.
