The Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) program is a nationwide network designed to create safer neighborhoods by reducing gun violence and gun crime, and sustaining that reduction. The effectiveness of PSN is predicated on local, state, and federal cooperation in a unified offensive led by the United States Attorney (USA) in each of the 94 federal judicial districts across the country. Each USA is responsible for establishing a collaborative PSN task force of federal, state, and local law enforcement and other community members to implement PSN initiatives within the district. Through the PSN task force, each USA will implement the five core elements of PSN - 1) partnerships, 2) strategic planning, 3) training, 4) outreach, and 5) accountability - to address specific gun-crime problems in that district. Recognizing that gang-related and gunrelated.
