Summary

DARPA is soliciting innovative research proposals in the area of quantum effects in a biological environment. Proposed research should establish that "manifestly" quantum effects occur in biology and show through simulation and experiments that devices which exploit these effects could be developed into novel sensors. Proposed research should investigate innovative approaches that enable revolutionary advances in science and sensors. Specifically excluded is research that primarily results in evolutionary improvements to the existing state of practice.
