The next cycle for grant applications to be turned in will begin October 2010 with the post mark deadline of December 20th, 2010. The program is anticipated to have a similar deadline annually.
WASPC is an acronym for the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs. The association was founded in 1963 and consists of executive and top management personnel from law enforcement agencies statewide. Its membership includes sheriffs, police chiefs, the Washington State Patrol, the Washington Department of Corrections, and representatives of a number of federal agencies. WASPC is governed by its executive board. Grant Funded Equipment: 1) Mini grants - educational/promotional materials 2) Equipment grants - traffic enforcement equipment, including, but not limited to, FST's, and radar units. Listed below are maximum awards for certain types of equipment. Other equipment requests will be evaluated on a case by case basis: Handheld Radar $799; Radar (Other) $1,000; Rear Antenna $400; FST's $500; In-Car Video System $1,000; In-Car Video System (digital) $2,500; Lidar Radar $3,000 3) Multi-jurisdictional grants - including, but not limited to, enforcement based educational activities or radar/readerboard trailers.
