$250 Million in Transportation Security Grants Announced

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has released guidance for more than $250 million in transportation security grants for fiscal 2010. Eligible agencies were determined according to the Urban Areas Security Initiative list of urban areas and the National Transit Database. 

The DHS news release mentioned a reduction in paperwork for state and local agencies, and the allowance for using fiscal 2010 funding to maintain projects started with previous years’ grant money.
