In-Q-Tel, a venture capital firm chartered by the CIA in 1999 to identify companies developing tools to support the technology needs of the nation’s intelligence community, has made an investment in Visible Technologies, a provider of social media analysis tools. “Its platform delivers a clear and comprehensive view of complex information, integrating real-time data into a navigable and easy-to-use application that understands the context and tone of online dialogue,” said Troy M. Pearsall, In-Q-Tel’s executive vice president of architecture and engineering, in a news release. The First Post has this analysis of the deal.
