Connecticut City Must Have Police Run Dispatch Center, State Says

Bridgeport, Conn., was told by the state’s Board of Labor Relations to have police supervise its Emergency Communications Operations Center instead of the civilians who currently run it. The board found that the city violated an agreement with the local police union when the communications center was combined for police, fire and medical services dispatch and six police representatives were transferred from dispatch duties.
