Tony Russell started work on Monday, Dec. 21, as the new administrator of FEMA Region VI. The region, headquartered in Denton, Texas, includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. Most recently, Russell worked as acting director of the Louisiana Transitional Recovery Office and as a federal coordinating officer in FEMA region VIII for six years before that.
