The oil company Denbury Onshore of Plano, Texas, said it had temporarily plugged a North Dakota well that started leaking oil and water Sept. 3. The well began leaking at 1 a.m. and was plugged with mud later that day. A permanent one will be installed once the company determines the leak's cause and decides whether to repair and reuse it. The well leaked 2,200 barrels of water and 246 barrels of oil before being stopped. The company said the spilled oil had been prevented from reaching a nearby creek.
