The Grand Forks, N.D., Border Patrol branch has begun a pilot program of placing agents in small border towns along a stretch of the northern border in hopes of improving coordination with local law enforcement, the Grand Forks Herald reported. Agents participating in the Resident Agent Program would be stationed in 12 towns ranging from Williston, N.D., to Ashland, Wis., along the U.S.-Canadian border, an agency spokesman told the paper.
