The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Monday launched a Web site to invite public comment on the department’s open government initiative. Stakeholders and the public will be able to submit suggestions on how to improve the transparency of the DHS until March 19 at http://www.dhs.gov/open. Ideas submitted will help shape the DHS’ open government plan.
In December 2009, President Barack Obama directed all federal executive branch agencies to draft open government plans to make their operations more transparent and efficient.
