FEMA released the results of the first Quadrennial Homeland Security Review on Monday. The document contains several high-level goals including improved information sharing and response to cyber-attacks. In addition, it urges a shift in the focus of emergency management to include greater emphasis on disaster preparedness and mitigation.
According to FEMA, this review is part of a three-step process that includes a top-to-bottom review of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and will culminate in the department’s fiscal year 2012 budget request.
The full report and more information are available on the FEMA Web site.
