Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine announced the commonwealth has allocated more than $5 million of its State Homeland Security Grant Program (SHSGP) funds to interoperability projects across the commonwealth. Funded projects include more than $1.7 million for completion of phase two of the Richmond Area Microwave Information System interoperable public safety communications network, the Governor’s Office said in a news release.
