Cybersecurity in the Pacific Northwest

BY: Eric Holdeman | June 28, 2012

We may be reading a great deal about cybersecurity in the news today, but it has been a topic of discussion in the Pacific Northwest since 2002, ten years ago.

My first exposure was the addition of a cybersecurity exercise to the mix of events prior to 2003 TOPOFF2 Exercise that had a dirty bomb scenario.  Then the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) got on the bandwagon with a Blue Cascades Cyber Security Exercise that lead to the establishment of NorthWest Alliance for Cyber Security (NWACS)  and more cyber related events.

The next in a series of planning and trainings is a Cyber Security Seminar and Tabletop scheduled for September 5 & 6 in Seattle.  You have to register in order to be able to attend.
