The New Hampshire Legislature is a considering a bill that would ban the use of biometric information, such as fingerprints, iris scans and DNA, in state-issued and private identification cards, with exceptions for employee ID cards, SC Magazine reported. New Hampshire Rep. Daniel Itse, who co-sponsored the bill, said the government shouldn’t collect that information about people. The legislation is opposed by biometric security trade groups who say the technology contains adequate privacy protections.
